Good ol' me

So this is my first blog ever. I don't really know what came over me but after listening to 'Spoken For' by Mercy Me, i felt like i had a lot to say so what better way than writing a blog.

Firstly, i want to thank the good Lord for always being ever so faithful to me even though i can be as stubborn as a mule!! (or sometimes even worse).

For those who don't really know me, here's a little background about my life (Hickeys ignore this!!). Well, i was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and grew up there till i came to the US of A, went to a Catholic school (Holy Infant Jesus Convent) for 11 years, taught by nuns and a fun fact that a lot of people really don't know about me is that i almost joined the Carmelite Sisters (they are nuns that observe silence, solitude and enclosure)....for those who know me.....QUIT LAUGHING!!!....

I was baptized as an infant in the catholic church and went to a catholic church all my life till i came here. The catholic church in the US is very different than the ones in Malaysia and i found that out really quickly. The catholic church in Malaysia is much more charismatic. Anyway, i started going to the church of christ since 2002 and learned about their beliefs. I understood most of it but the one battle i had was with baptism. I never could figure out if my baptism as an infant was 'valid' because i had the faith and everything but there was always that question lingering in me.

I was at Camp Wyldewood this past summer to visit my Charla May and Brian as they were counselors there and i got to listen to a testimony by Denise Shiroma and every word she said convicted me. No words can explain what i went through that day. All of a sudden everything finally made sense. Took me 3 years but i am so thankful that it happened when it did. Everything happens in His time right! That very day i got baptized and i was so blessed to be surrounded by the people that i love and respect with all my heart, my family, Charla, Brian and Scott and Mom (Hickey). I wished Dad (Hickey) had been there too!
Since that day, my life has changed. I still have bad days but i get comfort in knowing that i can rely fully on my Abba Father and he is going to take care of me. These words are not doing justice to what i'm feeling but its the best i can do. The song 'Spoken For' explains a lot of what i feel. Here are the lyrics..

"Spoken For"

Take this world from me
I don't need it anymore
I am finally free
My heart is spoken for

Oh and I praise you
Oh and I worship you...

[CHORUS:]
Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

Now I have a peace
I've never known before
I find myself complete
My heart is spoken for

Oh and I praise you
Oh and I worship you...

[CHORUS:]
Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

By the power of the cross
You've taken what was lost
And made it fully yours
And I have been redeemed
By you that spoke to me
Now I am spoken for

[CHORUS:]
Covered by your love divine
Child of the risen Lord
To hear you say "This one's mine"
My heart is spoken for

Take this world from me
Don't need it anymore...

I promise that my other blogs are not going to be this long. I'm so grateful that God put the Fosters, Branums and Hickeys in my life. They have been exceptional mentors to me.

God bless!!
